For parents
Helping your child get better at English, without the guesswork.
Most subjects show students what to learn and in what order. English rarely does, so hard work stops producing predictable results and confidence goes with it. Wizardry gives students the missing map: the theory of how analysis and essay writing work, taught in order, practised in small steps, with feedback that says what to fix next.
What your child gets
Short modules that build the method piece by piece, from what analysis is to full essay craft, in a course built for NCEA, Cambridge International or IB.
Fast drills on one skill and one quotation at a time, so the moves become automatic. Little and often is the design.
Full essays and close-analysis paragraphs on the texts studied in class, planned and written in a proper editor, then sent for marking.
AI-assisted marking written in the curriculum’s own terms, showing which step of the analysis broke and what to do next. A diagnostic aid; the teacher’s judgement always governs.
How it compares with a tutor
A tutor gives an hour of attention at a time. Wizardry gives a structure that is there every evening: the theory to read, the drill to do, the essay to write and the feedback to act on. It can sit alongside a tutor or a school programme. What it adds is the systematic part, the coherent body of theory that a weekly hour rarely has room for.
It is not a homework machine. Wizardry does not write essays or paragraphs for a student to hand in; it marks what they wrote and teaches the method behind it.
Cost and commitment
A solo membership is $10 NZD a month. It can be cancelled at any time from Settings, access runs to the end of the month paid for, and new members can take a full refund within the first two weeks, no questions asked. If your child’s school runs Wizardry, there is nothing to pay: school accounts are set up by the school and never pass through a payment page.
Privacy, in plain terms
Wizardry is built for students aged roughly 13 to 18 and holds the minimum the service needs: an email address, a display name, the qualification and year level, and the work itself. There is no date of birth, home address, phone number or photograph anywhere in the system. Student writing is marked by an AI model with no name or identifier attached, and it is not used to train that model. Nobody outside a student’s school can see their work, and students cannot see each other’s. The full policy is written for schools, parents and guardians: read the privacy policy.
How to start
Your child creates an account, or you do it together, chooses their curriculum and year level, and the pathway begins at the first stage. Students can start at any point in the school year, and the first two weeks are fully refundable. Questions first? The FAQ covers courses, feedback, pricing and privacy.
